If you are experiencing problems with your new puppy I will help you get off to a good start.  I also provide pre-puppy consults to ensure that you are fully prepared for your new arrival before you bring him/her home.  If your puppy or older dog is displaying behaviours that worry you, I can help. As a qualified dog training instructor and accredited Behaviourist, I will be able to look at the undesirable behaviour and help you create the most effective solution for helping you and your dog. I will use only kind and fair methods which are ethical and science-based and are consistent with current understanding of canine behaviour and learning theory.  Modern, urban living leaves many of us limited on time, and dog training isn't a 'one size fits all' profession.  My job is to find realistic, easy to learn and attainable solutions that work for you and your dog that will help you raise a a well-adjusted, well-behaved and happy dog.

My goal is to relieve the emotional (and sometimes physical) stress at both ends of the lead, rebuild the bond and develop your relationship with your dog so that you become the source of his or her confidence and courage.

Many of us find that life gets in the way of our good intentions. Are you finding it hard to fit training your dog into your busy schedule? Perhaps you are suffering from a disability that makes it difficult to train a certain behaviour? Please get in contact to discuss your needs, and together we will see if we can create and tailor a training plan whereby I come to your home, train your dog and then transfer the skills over to you.

Confidence and peace of mind for dog owners:

Puppy and dog behaviour can be confusing and frustrating, especially when it feels like the cute, furry puppy or dog you adore does nothing but cause chaos and ignore you.  My aim is to teach your dog to respond and listen to you, and I have helped hundreds of dogs and their owners in the North London area to confidently train and manage their puppies and dogs.

Based in North London, I specialise in individual one-to-one home training (I also offer the option of group classes).  I only use kind, fair and effective methods as practised by the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) of which I am a full member (M01194).  I also focus on the special but sometimes confusing relationship between children and dogs.

I will come to your home and talk through your needs and expectations. If you have children or are expecting a baby, I can advise on the best way to manage your family with a new puppy or dog.  I will then work with you and establish a training plan to help you get the most from your dog or puppy.  Once we have put the foundation blocks in place, we can then take our training outside.  I can often be found dog training in Highgate Woods,  Parkland Walk, Muswell Hill, Kenwood, Alexandra Palace, East Finchley, Highbury and Islington, Finsbury Park and surrounding areas in and around North London.

Together, we will work on basic exercises including Recall, Loose lead walking, Lie-down, Leave-it, as well as more challenging, established or breed specific behavioural issues.  We will also focus on building Life Skills (for example self-control), so that your dog (or puppy) gets reinforced for all the good choices that he or she makes.  Dog training isn't a 'one size fits all' profession, my job is to train the dog who's in front of me and find a solution that works for you, your family and your dog.

Using positive reinforcement, your dog will learn that he is being rewarded for doing what you want.  Training with Jane Robinson at ‘Dog on the Hill‘ will be an enjoyable way for your puppy or dog to learn, and by using kind, fair and effective methods, training will be fast and simple and a wonderful way for you to bond with your dog. Training is something you do with your dog, not to your dog.
